John Corr is a writer, professor, and martial artist who lives in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Along with his creative writing, he has published academic and technical writing and has delivered conference papers across Canada and internationally. John earned his PhD in English from McMaster University in 2007. He has taught at several universities and is now a full-time professor at Mohawk College, Dept. of Communication and Global Studies.
John holds the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Yoshinkan Aikido and Shodan (1st degree black belt) in ZNKR Jodo. His teacher is Sensei Takeshi Kimeda (Kudan, 9th degree black belt). John co-founded the first children's class for Aikido Yoshinkai Canada's Hamilton club in 2014.
John has one lovely wife, one feisty Scottish Terrier, and three rowdy sons. Eight Times Up (Orca Book Publishers, 2019) is John's first novel.
